Signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Tan Tock Seng Hospital Centre for Advanced Rehabilitation Therapeutics (CART)

On the 18th of April, S3 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Tan Tock Seng Hospital Centre for Advanced Rehabilitation Therapeutics (CART). The signing of the MOU was graced by Minister for Health, Mr Ong Ye Kung. The MOU will facilitate our partnership in research opportunities, co-learning and service projects to support stroke survivors in the community.

During the signing ceremony, Minister Ong emphasised the importance of community rehabilitation which complements acute rehabilitation to further drive recovery results and outcomes.

"With a rapidly ageing population and the increasing prevalence of chronic diseases, the demand for rehabilitation services will grow. We have to ensure that rehabilitation is accessible to patients, especially those who are vulnerable and frail." Minister Ong highlighted the objective of signing this MOU.

"Forging community partnerships helps us to achieve this goal and we hope that patients can receive rehabilitation services conveniently, be it near the MRT stations or the coffeeshops. The use of advanced technologies in community rehabilitation programmes is indeed a reality." Minister Ong added.

Under this partnership project, Tan Tock Seng Hospital will refer stroke sufferers to continue their rehabilitation in S3. We look forward to working together with Tan Tock Seng Hospital to help stroke survivors reintegrate into living in the community.
