Senior / Speech Therapist
Permanent, Full Time / Professional / 2-5 years exp
S3 aims to provide the best quality of post-stroke care in the community so that our clients and their families are able to rebuild their lives after stroke. With advanced technological equipment and stroke-focused programmes, S3 is able to provide an environment for stroke survivors and their families to enhance their physical, mental, social, and emotional health.
The incumbent will work with a multidisciplinary team to provide an effective and efficient therapy session for stroke survivors and to develop innovative solutions to serve the clients.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct accurate and holistic speech and language specific assessment for clients during admission, periodic care plan reviews and discharge
- Select appropriate and specific outcome measures to enable evaluation of therapy progress and outcomes in a timely manner to guide clinical decision making
- Formulate person-centred and SMART goals in collaboration with clients and relevant stakeholders
- Design plans and conduct speech and language interventions for clients in a person-centred manner, that is also evidence-based
- Document assessment results, therapy plans, interventions, goals and outcomes measures according to guidelines
- Communicate assessment results, intervention plans, goals, outcomes and discharge plans to clients and relevant stakeholders
- Formulate discharge and continuity of care plans based on clients' performance in consultation with relevant stakeholders
- Mentor and supervise therapists and support staff for professional development and day-to-day job scope
- Identify safety risks and issues, recommend preventive and corrective care measures
- Conduct in-house training for staff, caregivers and volunteers
- Engage in continuing education to further skills and knowledge in field of practice
Job Requirements:
- Degree or Masters in Speech Therapy
- Minimum 2 years relevant experience; minimum 5 years as a Speech Therapist to be considered for a Senior role
- Full registration with Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC)
- Dynamic and proactive personality with good public relation and communication skills
- Good management, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
