Therapy Assistant

Permanent, Full Time / Non-Executive / 1 year exp

 

We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Therapy Assistant to join our healthcare team. The Therapy Assistant will provide essential support to therapists in delivery high-quality care before, during, and after therapy sessions. You will assist in various therapy disclipines, including speech thrapy, occupational therapy, and physiotherapy, while also ensuring that the department's administration and operations run smoothly.

 

In this role, you will also be responsible for maintaining therapy facilities and equipment, ensuring they are in good working order, and participating in ongoing learning opportunities to further your professional development.

 

Job Description

Clinical Duties

  • Prepare clients, materials and equipment for assessments or therapy sessions
  • Assist therapists in carrying out therapist-prescribed exercises and programme activities, including group therapy
  • Conduct basic or routine group therapy sessions under the supervision of therapists or associates
  • Provide assistance during client assessments and treatment
  • Communicate relevant information from therapy sessions to therapists and associates
  • Support specialty therapy areas and specialised clinical programmes as instructed by therapists

 

Administrative and Programme-Related Duties

  • Maintain inventories of therapy equipment and supplies
  • Ensure cleanliness and safety in therapy areas, including the gym and activity rooms
  • Assist with housekeeping duties, ensuring equipment is well-maintained and organised
  • Follow inflection control procedures to maintain a safe environment for clients and staff
  • Perform basic data entry and other administrative tasks as required
  • Engage in ongoing training and education to enhance client care standards

 

Job Requirements

  • Minimum GCE O-Level
  • Experince in a healthcare setting is an advantage
  • Strong service orientation with empathy and active listening skills
  • Good interpersonal communication skills
  • A team player who works well with others
