National Day Outing to Jewel Changi Airport

A group photo with stroke survivors, caregivers, volunteers, employees of DCA Architects, and S3 to celebrate National Day!

On the 5th of August, Stroke Support Station (S3) brought 30 stroke survivors, caregivers and volunteers on an exciting National Day outing to Jewel Changi Airport. This outing was sponsored by and co-organised with DCA Architects, who joined us on the trip.

DCA Architects and S3 management teams meet again after 2 years.

It was a particularly meaningful day as it was our first physical outing with both the stroke survivors and DCA Architects after two years. S3 and DCA Architects had previously collaborated for annual National Day events, but the Covid-19 pandemic had unfortunately halted all physical activities in 2020 and 2021.

Together with some members from DCA Architects, the stroke survivors, caregivers and volunteers toured around Jewel in small groups to unwind, enjoy the sights and take loads of photos.

DCA Architects also shared their extensive knowledge about Jewel’s unique architectural design with everyone! We had fun taking a scenic walk while also learning new things.

Mr Ricky Yeo’s Nagomi artworks were gifted to DCA Architects as a token of appreciation.

We also had a surprise gift-giving ceremony at the end of the outing! Mr Ricky Yeo is a stroke survivor who uses Nagomi Art to create beautiful masterpieces with just his fingers and pastels. Mr Yeo and S3 gifted some of his creations to DCA Architects to both celebrate our first gathering in two years, and express our gratitude for sponsoring the event.
